Specialists & Referrals
Most primary care for SharedCare participants is provided through one of the free clinics that provide a Medical Home for SharedCare patients. However, many patients require further treatment by a specialist.
Specialists who participate in SharedCare agree to provide care for 6 visits per year. They agree to offer care mostly free. However, they may, if necessary, charge the patient a very nominal fee.
